Porcelain Crowns
When a tooth has been broken or damaged, porcelain fused to a metal crown can be used to strengthen it, add support and improve the appearance of the tooth to the tooth. A type of dental restoration, a crown (also called a cap) avoids having to remove the tooth. The procedure takes two appointments. At the first visit, the tooth is prepared, impressions are taken and sent to a lab, and a temporary crown is placed over your tooth. The lab custom-makes your new tooth-coloured porcelain crown. At the final appointment, your crown is cemented in.
